Yes. Any change in the affected window/tab can recover the situation. In one of the linked threads, I documented how to close the tab, reopen it (then the * reappears) and then it will save - same file, same number of lines of code, same number of tabs open. To me, that suggests that the editor object has lost the ability to save - closing and reopening another tab with the same file gives you a NEW editor and “something” knows the file is dirty and needs saving because the * reappears. This is a known bug. It comes and goes. One of your open files has not been saved correctly. The editor thinks it is saved, but the IDE somehow knows the environment is dirty. Workaround/Remedy One at a time, close your files. When you close a single file, open it again. Frequent Save Problems

I am not sure how to consistently recreate this issue, but it has been a major headache for me for quite some time. I am writing tests using the Cucumber framework - that is, feature files with step definition files underneath. I very frequently run into this “Save Problems” popup when I adjust my stepdef file, often occurring if I make a lot of small changes in multiple spots.
